Summerlin photo competition announced

Summerlin has started accepting submissions for its Summerlin Photography Competition 2021, which is open to both professional and amateur photographers aged 18 and over. Submissions will be accepted until September 9th in the events area on Summerlin.com.

The winners will be announced and presented at the Summerlin Festival of Arts 2021 from October 9th to 10th in Downtown Summerlin. The winning photos can also be displayed year-round in Downtown Summerlin and will be used on Summerlin's social media channels to honor the photographers.

Photographers are invited to submit photos in three categories: architecture, artificial landscapes and natural landscapes within and in the immediate vicinity of the community. To qualify, architectural and man-made landscapes must be included as an object in Summerlin; Natural landscapes must be in Summerlin or the adjacent Red Rock Canyon National Conversation Area / Spring Mountains area. According to Danielle Bisterfeldt, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Consumer Experience at Summerlin, the community has been the subject of thousands of photos seen around the world.

The photos are judged by a team of professional photographers. Winners in each category will receive a $ 250 Downtown Summerlin Gift Card and a professional print of their winning photo for display at the Festival of Arts October 9-10.

CAMCO VP receives award for his life's work

Christine Greengrass, CMCA, AMS, PCAM received the Golden Star Award for Lifetime Achievement at the Community Associations Institute's Nevada Chapter Awards Gala on July 16 at Red Rock Resort, where she was recognized for her leadership and commitment to the industry.

As Vice President of Association Services at Complete Association Management Company (CAMCO), Greengrass is focused on overseeing non-developer-controlled communities and educating homeowners and board members about the processes and laws governing community associations in Nevada.

With more than 30 years of experience managing real estate communities in Nevada, Michigan and California, Greengrass joined CAMCO in 2017 as Regional Director and General Manager of the Portfolios division before being promoted to Vice President of Community Management.

Panattoni hires development managers

Panattoni Development Co. announced that Phillip Dunning, CCIM, has joined the company as Development Manager.

Dunning joins Panattoni with over 16 years of commercial real estate and analytics experience, including building an emerging national brand, building an iconic Las Vegas restaurant, and multi-family and commercial properties. Most recently he was Director of Real Estate Development for The Siegel Group. In his new role at Panattoni Development, Dunning will be responsible for underwriting acquisitions, authorizing, planning and executing construction projects, and budgeting for all projects.

Dunning received his CCIM designation in 2011 and is a member of the board of directors and past president of the CCIM chapter of Southern Nevada. He is the former chairman of the US state of Nevada for ICSC and has been a member of the ARC Advisory Board of the Salvation Army since 2015.

Penta Group announces promotions

The Penta Group has announced the promotion of three team members from its Phoenix and Los Angeles offices.

■ Jacob Mumby is a senior project engineer in Southern California. The Las Vegas City Council approves the 2050 Master Plan

The Las Vegas Masterplan 2050 was officially approved by the city council and sets a new vision for a livable and sustainable Las Vegas in the next 30 years.

Developed over the past two years with input from the community and the SmithGroup advisory team, the plan addresses a variety of issues and key challenges including population growth, public health, education, drought, public safety, parks and recreation, housing and economic diversification a way that gives residents equal access to services, education and jobs.

As part of the plan, 16 areas were established throughout the metropolitan area, made up of existing neighborhoods and boroughs such as Downtown Las Vegas, Centennial Hills, and Summerlin, each designed to meet the needs of the city and its businesses.

The plan also changes the land use of more than 3,000 parcels across the city to allow for new mixed-use, transit-oriented zoning.

To track the progress of the plan, the city will present the results of key long-term metrics to show the achievement of the plan's short and long-term goals. The city will immediately start implementing the new plan with complementary projects with regional actors including:

■ Health and wellness centers.

■ Strong start-up academies.

■ New trails and bike facilities.

■ Drought and water conservation efforts.

■ Zoning changes for mixed-use, transit-oriented developments.

CALV presents educational symposium on September 15th
