It was a banner week last week…for me, anyway. I'm delighted to report that I made it up and down the scary (to me) stairs at Anthe TWICE! Very slowly – but not on my butt. Plus I made it down to the basement (and back up) at Willard to grab some cherry from my cache. But I'm more scared to go down those stairs (no railing) with wood in my hand…which is why what I didn't use is still leaning against the wall behind my bench. Sorry, Chris. (You might not know this, but he likes a ship-shape shop.)
I also edited some blog and substack posts (as always) – you'll find links to those below.

Visit 'The Crafted World of Wharton Esherick'
Thanks to Rob Spiece (you might know him as director of the Woodworking School at Pinecroft, among other roles), we got to go to the fancy opening part for "The Crafted World of Wharton Esherick" at the Taft Museum – here's a look at what we saw.
Period Furniture & Mouldings
Among the many quick hits of useful information in "The Woodworker's Pocket Book" is this excerpt that shows the moulding profiles and woods common in various periods of English furniture.
Mind Upon Mind: A Change to the Staked Chair
Matt Williamson employed some thrifty thinking in his use of scrap materials to make a couple of the staked chairs from "The Anarchist's Design Book."
SALE: Water-spotted Copies of 'Ingenious Mechanicks'
As I write this, we still have remaining about 300 mildly spotty copies of "Ingenious Mechanicks" on sale for $26. (I have trouble spotting the spots on most of these.)
