The first 8-car trainset for PNR Clark has arrived in the Philippines
This is one of 13 trainsets acquired by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) from Japan Transport Engineering Company at Sumitomo Corporation for use on the Manila-Clark Railway.
The new trainset left Yokohama Port on November 13 after passing the Factory Acceptance Test at Japan's J-TREC Factory to ensure compliance with various international standards.
According to the DOTr, the new trainset will be delivered to the PNR Malanday Depot in Valenzuela next month, following customs clearances.
Meanwhile, the second trainset for the project is expected to arrive in the Philippines in the second quarter of 2022, according to the DOTr.
