Can you believe it is already October? I do not know about you but once it is October the kids are begging to buy a pumpkin to carve! Two of our top 4 favorite pumpkin patches to visit are also our favorite apple orchards. If you did not have time in September to make it to an apple orchard tack it on to your pumpkin picking adventure!
- Goebbert's Pumpkin Patch
Pinegree Grove, IL
Visit Goebbert's Pumpkin Patch for a pumpkin themed day. In addition to picking out the perfect pumpkin the kids will love the pumpkin eating dinosaur, the pumpkin train, and the pumpkin slide! The older kiddos will love the gem stone dig which should occupy them for a really good amount of time. Open daily 9-6pm. Online ticket purchase required. General admission is $17 per person Monday - Friday, $20 per person on weekends. Seniors are $12 and Children under 2 are free.
2. Wagner Farm
Glenview, IL
Take a step back in time on Wagner Farm. Turn your pumpkin picking adventure into an educational one! Tour a 1920s farmhouse, learn about livestock at the Wagner barn, and go inside a two-story silo. Don't forget to stop by the new farm adventure play area. This new play area is a playground and interactive exhibit in one. Open daily 10-5pm.
3. Bengston's Pumpkin Patch
Homer Glen, IL
Bengston's Pumpkin Patch is an amusement park and all things pumpkin in one! Whether you want to take a relaxing tractor train ride, enjoy the thrill of a roller coaster, or make new friends at the petting zoo there is something for everyone. Plus there are three new rides for 2021! Open weekdays 11am-8:30pm and weekends 10am-8:30pm. General admission is $19-$30 per person, ages 1 and under are free.
4. All Seasons Orchard
Woodstock, IL
With over 20 weekday attractions and more on the weekends All Seasons Orchard is another excellent option! Open through the end of October you can let the kids not only pick apples but also on the vine pumpkins at the pumpkin patch. Once you pick your apples and pumpkins the kids can enjoy everything from bowling and checkers to zip lines and pedal karts! Open weekdays 10am-5pm and weekends, Labor Day, Columbus Day 10am-6pm. General admission is $11 for apple picking, $12 (weekday) and $17 (weekends) for Barnyard/Pumpkin Patch, or a combo ticket for both apple picking and barnyard/pumpkin picking is $21 (weekday) and $26 (weekend). Prices are per person. 2 and under are free.
